There will be a reception for the double senior show, “Crowded Table,” pottery by Edel Miller, and “Solace in the Story,”mixed media by Rachel Geyer, Thursday, Dec. 7, from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

The exhibits, which comprise the first of two senior shows of the 2023-24 school year, are up through Thursday, Dec. 14. However, Geyer’s show is normally open by appointment only, so the reception time slot is a chance to see it at a scheduled time.

Miller’s exhibit is in the Regier Art Gallery and Geyer’s in the Drama Lab, both in Luyken Fine Arts Center. 

A local artist with national connections is now exhibiting in Regier Art Gallery – “Motherhood” comprises textile works by Eden Quispe, who teaches art at Newton High School.

The exhibition in the gallery inside Luyken Fine Arts Center on campus will run through Nov. 17, with the artist reception Nov. 16 from 6-8 p.m. at the gallery. 

Regular gallery hours are Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., and Sunday 2-4 p.m. There is no admission charge.

The first show of 2023-24 in the Regier Art Gallery, “Drinking from a New Well,” closes Thursday, Sept. 21, with a reception for the artists, Tom and Pam Voth, from 6-8 p.m. at the gallery.

The exhibit features the Voths’ ceramic artistry, ranging from wheel-thrown to hand-built functional and decorative pieces. 

The Regier Gallery is located in Luyken Fine Arts Center on the Bethel campus. Regular hours are Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., and Sunday 2-4 p.m. There is no admission charge.

Stacey Stanhope Dundon's exhibit of ceramics, "Farm to Table," is now in the Regier Gallery in Luyken Fine Arts Center through Feb. 24, with the artist on campus Feb. 23-24.

The pieces currently on display bring together Dundon’s love of pottery, drawing, painting and farm life.

Dundon will be on campus Feb. 23-24 as the Greer Visiting Artist, meeting with the Ceramics class both days, and giving an evening presentation Feb. 23, followed by the artist reception.

Capri Bisom’s senior show, titled “Senior Art Seminar,” is in the Regier Gallery in Luyken Fine Arts Center, through Thursday, Dec. 15 (Mon.-Fri., 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Sunday, 2-4 p.m.).

Bisom has a goal of using art to educate as well as self-express, as their work indicates.

Bisom is a senior from West Berlin, N.J., who will graduate from Bethel next May with majors in art and chemistry. Bisom’s show opens in the Regier Art Gallery in Luyken Fine Arts Center, and closes Friday, Dec. 15.

The exhibition currently in Bethel College’s Regier Art Gallery reflects a winding road through different parts of the world and different expressions of one person’s art.

Julia Olson’s exhibit “Hidden Conversations through Portraiture” will be in the gallery through Nov. 18, with the artist reception on Nov. 17 at the gallery in Luyken Fine Arts Center.

Gallery hours are Mon.-Fri., 9 a.m.-5 p.m., and Sunday, 2-4 p.m.

Olson began drawing “faces that made sense” at age 2. She pursued an art education, studying illustration with an emphasis on fashion.

“Environmental Exposure,” now in the Regier Gallery in Luyken Fine Arts Center, represents what is very likely a new genre – pieces of metal or wood on which the environment has created the design.

Glen Ediger’s exhibit opened Sept. 30 and will be up through Oct. 21.

Ediger, of North Newton, retired in 2015 after 30 years as director of design at Vornado Air, where he was involved in the design, engineering and development of Vornado products.

Last chance to see Ernest Vincent Wood III’s exhibit of oils, “Do Not Despise the Day of Small Things,” in the Regier Art Gallery – and plan to attend the artist reception this evening between 6 and 8 p.m.

Wood’s “sensitive use of light and realism” bring to 2022 the 17th-century technique of the Roman Caravaggisti and still-life artists of the Dutch Baroque – “with a contemporary twist of innuendo that makes an Old-World technique relevant,” according to the artist’s website.

Don't miss the last chance to see “Voices Together,” an exhibit of original artwork from the hymnal of the same title, in the Regier Gallery, closing this Friday.

The exhibit currently in the Regier Art Gallery in Luyken Fine Arts Center is something out of the ordinary in that it marks the first time a Mennonite hymnal has included visual art in its pages.

This is the last chance to see "Roots and Wings: Our Gifts from Mother Nature" in the Regier Art Gallery, open Wednesday and Thursday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

The exhibit of prints by various artists and sculpture by Beth Vannatta, in the gallery in Luyken Fine Arts Center, closes Friday, Oct. 22.

Vannatta's vision and passion is also displayed, enhanced by a group of artists who got together to support that vision.

Vannatta, a retired art teacher from Halstead, has devoted her time in recent years to sculpture and to speaking out against war and violence.
